I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. I completed the UCSD certification program in Fitness Instruction/Exercise Science, earning A’s in all classes. I completed additional college coursework in Anatomy with Lab, and Experience Human Dissection. I completed an internship in cardiac rehabilitation at Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine. I worked with wounded warriors at Naval Medical Center, and at various senior facilities in San Diego, CA. I was a volunteer fitness trainer working with active duty marines rehabilitating at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA.
I am a Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer (ACSM/American Cancer Society). I am a Certified Pilates Mat Instructor (PhysicalMind Institute), Certified Arthritis Foundation Instructor, Certified Gravity Instructor (TotalGym), Certified Spin Instructor (Schwin) and CPR/AED certified. I studied Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy for Lymphedema at the Foeldi school and clinic in Germany, including Cadaver Study of Lymphatic Systems at University Hospital, Zurich.
I have an MBA from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and a BA in psychology from Pitzer College, The Claremont Colleges, CA. Prior to becoming a Fitness Trainer, I worked for intellectual property law firms (Lyon & Lyon), the federal government (RTC/FDIC), consulting firms (Arthur Andersen, Coopers & Lybrand), and biotech (Chugai/Roche).
I have worked in medical centers (UCSF, Stanford, Scripps, Naval Medical Center San Diego), physical therapy clinics (Bay Sport), gyms (Bay Club, YMCA, TriCity Wellness), and senior communities (Wesley Palms, White Sands).
